Hello Dad and Mom.
This time, the topic is Anticipating Parents’ Objections, but I really have nothing to write about it today.
When I was young, I was restricted couple of times, which I remember, but nowadays, while I remind them again, I could not more agree with your decisions, and maybe because of that I’ve got more mature than I would.
In other hand, I am so appreciate that you respect my decision first. We always have a talk, selecting the best choice and trying to figure out the problems together. We argue a little bit, but we keep the rules: who has the most logical reason, then follow whose words. Of course, I fail sometimes, but you’ve encouraged me instead of blaming so that I realize my mistake by myself, meanwhile, let me know to forgive some one’s mistakes as you do.
I’ve read some of my classmates’ blogs, and which interesting to me is three of them talking about marriage surprisingly. So, I guess it may be our issues one day. Huh. How about if I say I am going to marry at my 35 or later? How about if I fall in love with the girl who is 10 years older than me? Huh~! It will be an interesting argument between you and me. But don’t worry at least I will bring you grand children. Khahaha~ (Thanks that you cannot read English -. - :)
I miss you Dad, I miss you Mom, a lot.
Please take care of yourselves.
Your son.

Journal #12: Advice
I have been given bunches of the advices in my life, for example, wear long pants when you hike protected from the branches scratching or insects irritating, or don’t be on bed before your hair is dried after a shower because it is easy to cause headache.
I think the best advice I was given is “think before you leap”. My personality was that I could not be patient. I did whatever I thought, immediately but blindly, therefore, there were unavoidable mistakes I have ever made. For instance, I had sudden desire to jump into the pool which was at outside in the winter when the temp was nearly below zero centigrade resulting my 40 centigrade fever for one week. Another one I remember was that I made a flower which was my father’s favorite to die because I showered hot water on it since there was a disgusting worm on its leaves. Now I think I am becoming more mature. Of course I won’t do the things above any more, and try to think “if” before I make the decision.
In other hand, I keep my own advice that is “life is one time”. Although, it brings me to be impatient sometimes again, it helps me to avoid hesitating. Once there was a welcome event in the campus when I was a freshman, and our institute was looking for a person who could perform on the stage. I volunteered without thinking too much. I just wanted to feel the stage in my life. I sang a Korean song, and the reaction was cheered. From then on I started to dance. I’d never thought about I could stand on the stage, but such an impulse changed my view, and I have enjoyed so far.
If let me give someone an advice, I will say, “Life is one time”; do whatever you want under the law.

Journal #11: Research topic
My research topic is about “Hand gesture”.
I am interested in observing people, and sometimes I would like to sit on the bench of the airport or shopping mall to satisfy my odd hobby. However, in another way, I found that it is necessary to look over the person talking with, especially, if you give a presentation to your audiences, you don’t expect your guests are falling asleep during your speech. I am sure my research is useful to you not even just little, and you will know how important the gesture is when you are talking.
Have you noticed that what the effect is talking to people with the crossing arms? Or, scratch your neck or touch your nose frequently using your hands or fingers when you try you persuade your customers?
And how about this is? If you like skinship, when is the best time to have skin ship with your customers or when is it forbidden?
What can you guess from guests’ reactions? Are they interested? Bored? Agree? Denying?
It might have differences among different countries and culture backgrounds, though there are still existing general similarities.
Those are what I want to research.

Journal #9: Optimistic Quote
There is a Chinese old story about an old woman who was used to be a pessimist. She had two sons. The big son sold the strew sandals, and the younger son did the galoshes business. The family with three people was feeding well by two sons, but the mother could not be comfortable everyday because of the weather. In the rainy day she was worried about the big son since customers would not buy the sandals made by strew, and in the sunny day she was anxious for her younger son as no one would buy his products. She was getting sick day by day, and nobody could understand why. One day, her neighbor heard about it, and talked to the woman, “Why don’t you think it in opposite way? In the rainy day people buy your little son’s galoshes, and the sunny day should be your big sons D-days”.
Is the glass half empty or half full? It is an interesting question. I will choose - the half empty. The reason is that it can remind me there is not much water left in the glass, thereby, I would save last half a lot. OK, if you don’t agree with my opinion, how about consider the glass as the world sources like gasoline, nature gas and charcoal? I guess most of the people would stand by my side in this case. The point is, it is depends on the different situations. I would like to call the pessimist as low-key owners. For example, before entering the test occasion, we should keep the optimism, but during the test, it is better to keep the low key so that avoiding the unnecessary subnormal mistakes. After the test, I think we should also keep calm. Don’t be upset because the test was hard, and also don’t be so proud you figured out the problems which others didn’t, but you might not get the higher score than the pessimist. It happens.

Journal #10: American Food
Personally, I don’t like American food. Although I don’t know what the traditional American food is, all I have known and seen is burger, salad and sandwich. The food seems to be made them up simple. Most of the sources are already prepared, and you just need to build them up as a building. In this case American way to cook is similar with constructing. For example, everyone can build a burger if there are some basic materials like bread, ham, cheese, peanut source, pepper, salt, jam, jelly. Most foods are simplified, and they think this way is better.
I prefer the way to cook putting in mind and heart. The way to prepare the components is one of the most important processes in Korean food. For instance, Korean BBQ, the meat should be prepared the day before use garlic, onion, pears, and all kinds of condiments and seasoning so that the taste can soak into the meat. And when we eat the BBQ (actually, any food), kimchi is the necessarily needed which not only can enhance the BBQ’s taste, but decrease the meat’s greasiness.
Maybe there is American stake tending to dispute my bias. I tried once, and it was not bad though, I found the quality of the food is quite different. Once, I was in Chinese, one of my American friends almost cried out when he ate the Chinese chicken. He said, from this chicken he could smell the real chicken taste. I could not understand at that time, but when I tried the chicken here, I realized. The chicken taste as more the cotton than the meat.
If I eagerly want to go back my hometown, one of the reasons must be the food nostalgia.

Compare Chinese and American traffic
I think the traffic is ok here. It has good way and bad way as well. The good way is people has the awareness of the traffic rules, in contrast, the rules are confused.
Do you want to experience the real traffic jam? Come to Guangzhou in China at 5p to 9p. It's horrible. Once, it would take me 30 minutes by walking, but actually it took me 2 hours by bus during the getting off duty time. I think people are short of the awareness of the traffic rules or the moral. I am not exaggerating, however, we believe quantity is bigger than quality. Means even the signal is red for the pedestrian, it is still possible to cross by the street if there are enough people accompanied. I could not agree more the traffic laws in America that vehicles must yield to the others, and people abbey the laws. That reduces a large number percentage of the traffic accidents meanwhile it should be the human being.
However, in America, I do not really like the transportation system. The bus time is ridiculers and unsteady. The intermission between two buses is at least 20 minutes, and sometimes it is one hour. If you are late one minute for the bus you want to take, that means you have to wait another one hour for next bus even without the guarantee. If I plan to travel somewhere, I have to follow the schedule of the bus or train first. The worse is there are merely taxis around in the city. You have to call a taxi if you want, and the price is so expensive that as the same price you can get a room in a motel and the food instead. It is hard to happened in China though. The taxis are plenty and available in most of the cities, and the system of the buses are more flexible than the USA. Perhaps that is because most of the Chinese cannot afford private car for themselves yet, and we still rely on the public transportations.
I will get my own car to get around here because I think it is necessary since I cannot use the public transportations to everywhere and anytime, and I have enough patients for the American traffic jam.
